The ACCESS Programs for SAMSCA

Hyponatremia video library

In an effort to help ensure that SAMSCA is available to patients, Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc (OAPI), has created the ACCESS Program. There are two initiatives to help provide information about and access to medication coverage—the Reimbursement Support Program and the OAPI Patient Assistance Program.

The Reimbursement Support Program is designed to help insured patients better understand their benefits for SAMSCA. A representative of the Reimbursement Support Program can contact the patients' insurance companies, clarify if patients will need prior authorization to obtain SAMSCA, and determine exactly what the patients' copays should be.

The OAPI Patient Assistance Program helps eligible patients obtain SAMSCA directly from Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. This program ensures that SAMSCA is made available free of charge to eligible patients who are uninsured and who need to continue taking SAMSCA following discharge from the hospital.
